Martynas Armonaitis is a finance expert with over 20 years of experience in financial management and accounting. He holds a higher education degree and has worked as an economics and finance director in various sectors of the economy. His responsibilities have included financial and accounting control, investment planning, budget management, and economic analysis. Since January 4, 2010, he has been working as the Chief Financial Officer at Klaipėda State Seaport Authority. His duties involve the development of strategic plans, financial and accounting control, reporting to stakeholders and institutions, and the preparation of investment programs, among others. In 2022, marked by sanctions and the war in Ukraine, the Port of Klaipėda handled 36.1 million tons of cargo. By comparison, in 2021 it was 45.6 million tons, and in 2020 it was 47.8 million tons. With the changing geopolitical environment, the port also had to adapt to the new situation. Now it can be stated that profitable operations, port development and modernization have been successfully maintained. In 2022, the port authority invested 72 million EUR in the port, and an additional 300 million EUR is planned for investment in the years 2023 to 2026.
